Artistic Director, flautist Bridget Bolliger has once again created three unique programs, opening the festival with a FREE family Coffee Concerto , a Chat, and Cup of Coffee…for a taste of SCMF Saturday morning 27 September 11am.

The Saturday and Sunday night programs showcase masterworks by Vivaldi, Dvorak, Schubert, JS Bach, Astor Piazolla, Villa-Lobos, Saint-Saens, and Australian composers Alan Holley, Paul Stanhope and Nigel Westlake.

Germany’s esteemed Faust Quartett and Dimitri Ashkenazy (clarinet), will be performing in the 2014 Sydney Chamber Music Festival . Hailed by the press for its “high playing culture in all dynamic areas, its awareness of musical processes and its highly developed sense of sound”, the Faust Quartett has rapidly developed into
one of the most noteworthy string quartets of its generation”.

Dimitri Ashkenazy performs widely as both soloist and chamber music musician. He has appeared with such orchestras as the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin, Sydney Symphony Orchestra, and in Japan with the Japan Philharmonic, Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony and Mito Chamber Orchestras.
